Frankly speaking, I do not know the hidden meaning to that. But it does seems to be as "name of the characters" as I know that naming of characters is supposed to have certain significance in the plot itself and how the characters will "look" like.
Perhaps something like Shindou Hikaru and Touya Akira in Hikaru no Go.
Shindou being "progress" ; "wise"
Hikaru being "bright"; "brilliant" and indeed he is a brilliant GO player?
Touya being "tower"
Akira being "bright light" (bright light at the top of the tower? another brilliant GO player?)
another example will be Yagami Raito and maybe Teru Mikami in Death Note.
Yagami being "the night God"
Raito being the "light"
Teru being "tell"
Mikami being "my kami ... my God" - as Raito's follower?
or it can simply be Pen Name? lolz
Anyway this is just pure speculation.
