being passive = (indirectly) playing with their feelings. The two parts work well together imho, btw the main point is that Alto's clueslessness is causing confusion and pain to two girls so this is unforgivable no matter what. It isn't like a thing outside Alto's control, if he's clueless and doesn't know how to treat women it's his own personal problem.
