Isn't the planet the Garmillas bombarded (they really don't mess around when it comes to squashing a rebellion) and the planet the Yamato visited for resupplies one and the same? If so, where was the devastation? It certainly didn't look like it was recently bombarded.

Also, the Garmillas appear to be terrible shots. So many misses. No wonder they need so many ships.

Where did you even get the idea they are the same?! The planet bombed by Gimleh's forces is clearly labeled as Alteria, deep in the Garmillas territories. The other is named Beemela and it's on the outer edge of our galaxy! And it hasn'tr been inhabited for nearly 300 years.
