Anyway I don't think there is a single "home" for trains, rather at least one for each "line".

Ryukishi in an interview pretty much made clear that the adults know where Kinzo used to live, of course this include Eva. Ryukishi said that knowing what the homeland is was a huge advantage for her.
That's an incredible huge hint Ryukishi revealed there
