Well there already systems to use compressed gas as a way to store energy.

And there are also compressed air vehicles.

I'm not aware of anything of the sort that uses compressed gasses different from air.

I suppose that means that air is efficient enough and other gasses wouldn't be worth the effort since you'd need to spend even more energy to extract them or refine them.
