True. Like the greenhouse red rose she pointed out in that first season, Sachiko has become one of those excellent rare anime heroines who develop to maturity, elegance and eloquence over time.
This is a woman who does not flaunt or consume wealth but who seeks to become an authentic human being -- and succeeds.
One thing I was thinking about
: I imagine even those fanboys in Japan watch this episode, and then shed manly tears and heartbroken with pity as they witness Yumi's tearful scene play out. It's like an emotional equivalent of a bunker-buster bomb -- devastating.
