I think of it merely as stressing some qualities in her character and consider the attention she got justified given her prominence in the show. In a show like this one, it's rather impossible - nay, downright stupid - to tell the audience what's going on everywhere in tandem so I agree with the decision to focus on different sides of the story for a while then switch etc. But we will see how it all pans out once its all done.
