As has been mentioned, vectorizing. Use Pen Tool in Illustrator to mimic the font and create whatever text you want. I'm sure there is an easier way, but that's as far as I know. I'm sure a veteran fansubber on the forums can provide assistance.
In some cases, you can also use a service such as
http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/ that works nicely if the font is something it can recognize. In this case it seems to be screwing up, though.
