I started the manga and caught up long before I caught up with the anime. Just came from the raw a few seconds ago, I'll give some thoughts.

I actually was fairly impressed with how they handled a fairly rushed final set of episodes. I was expecting the Kishin Hunter to just end everything, but rather than that, I think Bones took a fairly unexpected, and pretty cool path. Yeah, in a lot of ways predictable and maybe even disappointing, but on the whole the series was pretty fantastic for 51 episodes, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anime fans, and then tell them to read the manga after so they can get even more, and a different take as well.

And I'll be damned if Bones doesn't know how to frame and animate. God, the storyboarders are on a level with the GL folk. They definitely have an eye for film in general.
