The MGS series already has done some pretty freaky stuff along the lines of survival horror already, probably the most notorious one being The Sorrow's river in MGS3. During it you can't do anything but walk forward and avoid things. Depending on what you do earlier in the game it could be incredibly long or short too.
Actually, every MGS title has some surrealistic horror elements in it in some form.
