I'd agree to an extent mostly because I don't quite know what constitutes doing well or poorly in the R1 DVD market (does selling less than 5,000 dvds count as poor? What about 10,000?). I'd expect it to be able to break 5,000 at a bare minimum.
In any event, it does help that Hayate's manga has had about 7 or so volumes released stateside, which means that the potential audience has already been exposed to it. This should definitely help with it becoming popular if the marketing works out well if they can get Viz to help out with this one.
