I really did not like what DEEN did with the last few episodes of Umineko, but wow, this one was REALLY well done.

The only things they did is left out one, while entertaining, unnecessary scene (though I hope they include the red text used in that part somewhere else...) and shortened noticeably the Hempel's Raven discussion (cut Hempel's Raven out entirely, actually), but still got the point of the scene across from what I can tell.

People actually had emotion, and the scenes actually had atmosphere fitting of them. Core, Beatrice's reactions, and Battler's hotbloodedness were much more in line with how the argument scenes should have been all along... I felt the same way watching this episode as I do when I read the novel.

I really can't heap enough praise onto this episode after the absolutely abysmal job they did with the last few. Why must you give me hope, DEEN? Will you really do better now, or are you just going to break my heart again?

Anyway, 10/10 for this episode.
