Too expensive(Which is why untill recently they rarely used Anime Cut-Ins), the best they can do is animate the OG versions. I also don't think the many different Mecha series would approve of their characters and mecha being animated into a series with other mecha series since too many series makes it hard to develop everyone.

SRW gets away with that since it has a lot of text(Cheaper than VA work) which lets them not only deal with multiple series but also flesh things out better.

Like Code Geass in the SRW Z2 saga that helped flesh out C.C.'s past and expanded more on Lelouch and Kallen and their relationship(As well as Kallen's careing side and Lelouch's selflessness) vastly that the series only touched on. Though I'm sure C.C. x Lelouch and Gino x Kallen shippers were rightly angry since C.C. is portrayed as only a motherly figure(And not a Lover) to Lelouch and Kallen, Gino has a lot of scenes with Kallen cut out(And he doesn't join till much later and for vastly different reasons), and the game focuses only on the Lelouch x Kallen ship from start to finish. Even if Shirley is saved she lets Lelouch go since she can't live in the world that Lelouch is forced to walk while Kallen and Suzaku can.

Or SEED Destiny where they took out Athrun's defection, gave Shinn and Lunamaria a lot of moments to develop their romance(and cut out her crush on Athrun), and made Kira more like a newtype where he "understands" Shinn and helps Shinn save Stella which later prevents the battle of Orb(Instead the Minerva lets the Archangel escape and they later aid Cagalli and the Archangel retake Orb with Shinn and Lunamaria refuseing to be used by Durandal and join forces with Kira).

Makes me wonder what changes Muv-Luv might be open if it gets okay'd for SRW. I'm sure there are some things fans would like changed or added in as secrets. Sorta like when Fafner got in SRW K they made a secret where you could save everyone and change the ending completely.
