The animation certainly didn't have the same kyoani quality we've seen in their other series. Of course, it could be a placeholder that was thrown together, but I'm starting to doubt kyoani's involvement. My money's on PA works, something about the trailer felt similar to their works.
I really hope that isn't the actual quality of the anime tho. Animation and art quality these days tend to look much better than what was shown.
