It will work out because this series has an end and comic books will never have them. They go on perpetually.
Batman x Catwoman or Batman x Talia would work if Batman were to END or Bruce Wayne would have a canon ending to his adventures.
A relationship that works out that is similar to this kind of relationship is the one with Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade. But that is because Star Wars follows a timeline. Luke and Mara got married even though Mara was once Palpatine's apprentice and tried to kill Skywalker. Mortal enemies get married.
