Going off-topic for a bit then.
Spoiler for Sure?:
Spoiler for Sure, sure?:
The skinny: He's someone who swims in drama and especially to start drama. Is hated and loved by all due to his e-peen and opinion/style regarding translation and editing, which is comparable to gg and Commie.
Non-skinny: He's one of the founders of tlwiki and was working as an editor way back then. When the influx for the VN TL scene was fresh, he was more or less the person who kept contact among the numerous groups working on their project while working as simply an editor. But he caused all sorts of drama or was at the center of it due to his obvious e-peen issues and self-entitled importance. He often would lecture about how to translate and try to criticize translations despite not actually knowing Japanese. He has strong biased for dynamic equivalence (which I personally don't like) over formal equivalence and isn't afraid to try to change TLs who uses formal over dynamic by starting drama over it, often using his popularity and goons.
He started to learn Japanese like less than 2 years ago, but even when he only had a couple of months of learning, he thought himself good enough to give advice as if he was one. Not that he didn't do that even before he started learning. Unfortunately, he has more or less become a TL and comparing him to gg or Commie isn't wrong since his translation philosophy slides deep enough towards the dynamic equivalence spectrum to be overly liberal and almost complete absence of Japanese culture/honorifics and otaku lingo/sub-culture vernaculars. Naturally, his editing matches his philosophy, so you can imagine how it is when he edits. Anyway, he always say people take him too seriously and that he should be ignored if people don't like him, but really, it's he who takes things seriously in the first place.
