Well, they quite literally hit the brakes on the harem story when people started getting shot left and right, so you stand a chance...
It was impossible not to notice the dramatic increase in sightings of the "Coeurl Express" delivery vans in the last three or four episodes (it doesn't help that they're orange and have a huge logo), along with the creepy looks from the one guy they kept showing with the trucks, so it wasn't really a surprise that it hit the fan in this episode. In this sense, the harem storyline was quite a diversion... you were either distracted by the saabisu saabisu or, as you just mentioned, facepalming so hard that it became difficult to watch the show.
