I'm glad to have grown up in an environment that understands and accepts the hobbies that has taken over my life, so it's really heart-wrenching to see this story of a girl who isn't as fortunate. The entire second half of this episode was extremely captivating; Kirino solidifying her love despite the consequences, and in turn lighting a fire in her brother that would make him go so far as to even take a
huge
fall for her. It's just good to see Kirino slowly erasing her insecurities about what she loves, and seeing her brother (and family, to a lesser extent) slowly come to understand and accept her hobbies. I'm surprised the issue with the father was resolved so quickly (I was thinking it was going to be a problem that lasted for quite a while), but I guess that just opens opens up a whole new slew of possibilities for the remaining nine episodes.
I really like how the end depicted the beginning in a number of ways as well. It feels like the series really is just starting now, and that hard earned gratitude from Kirino at the ends feels like a new beginning for the siblings who have drifted so far apart as well.
This is easily my show of the season.
