After watching ep 10 I have a doubt
Is Sia aware of Kyouko before meeting again with Rin, or after? I have the impression after seen ep 10 that she doesnt know about her other self.
What do you think?

In the game you choose which girl you want to be with. There are multiple endings.
For novels, there is one for each character. Not sure how they end though.
I think the manga hasn't ended yet?

Kyouko
How did it turn into 'Kyouko'...?! It's Kikyou.
Now, I've a few questions on the multiple endings regarding who Rin ends up with (as in marrying), since:
If Rin chooses a girl other than Sia/Nerine, there's this scene where he supposedly appologizes to Shin/Maou.
But instead of getting the a$$whooping he expected, the gods party, and then proceed to assume that Rin's going to rule all 3 worlds. (i.e. he'll take Sia, Nerine AND whoever he chose...)
**
Now here's the question:
How many people end up marrying Rin in each ending?
Yeah, crazy three-wife allowance of the God & Demon Worlds...
Rin doesn't end up marrying anyone... The game just ends with him having decided on one girl and the girl free of her past troubles in each ending.

Because it's only once a precious memory
So even if it'd overflow, even if it'd spill, let's actively grasp the happiness
Your beautiful feelings want something-
Have you noticed the motivating power that keeps supporting you?
Even if you're somehow in an unexpected situation
Please still be as you are- that's a promise
'If it's not digital then you can't handle it'; there are times like that
But maybe an inspiration or feelings- hey, they are the most important
Because it's only once a precious memory
So even if you'd fall in love, even if you'd have dreams, shall we have musical pitches?
Being as so daring is just right, probably
Even if it'd overflow, even if it'd spill, let's actively grasp the happiness
...You know, we can really use a new and separate Tick! Tack! topic here.

As Nerine is the daughter of Forbesii and Sage, therefore something has to happen to her if history is changed, right? Well, she did, depending on how u change history, the normal Nerine will turn to either:

Nerine(pink) and
http://img321.imageshack.us/img321/3...inerine8ug.jpg
Nerine(loli)
That's so much for Tick! Tack! spoilers... and my first post in animesuki
If Nerine became loli, what age would that make Primula?

Hey, when Nerine changes, do her memories with Rin change?

so in tick tack game, rin suppously ended up wit nerine and they went back into the past? then rin goes around pimpin and nerine charactertisic changes? that would mean her memories changes also, cuz the pink/loli nerine would never meet rin cuz they dont got 2 personilities like blue nerine.
but that also means that they wouldve never went back in time, so rin could never change time... wow this is confusing

Well, even thought in Ero-BGames all the characters in sexual activity are aged 18 y.o. or older, and loli-Nerine is clearly under 18, that don't means she will have sex with Rin.
In many light-themed bgames, do exist pure-love endings without sex with a girl, especially if she had something different than most characters. Probably in TICK TACK too, Rin will be forced to wait 5 or 6 years before he can do something nasty with loli-Nerine.

About Sia's and Nerine's dad, don't you think that the ruler of gods and the ruler of demons respectively have way too much free time?
It's like they don't have much responsibilities as a ruler.
Also, you don't see any servants at their house.
In Tick Tack there's a maid(Sage) and a butler(Bark).
I mean, they look like the average household rather than royalties.
Oh, and is there a specific reason why they didn't bring their wives along with them?
Just wondering if the game addresses any of my question. :x

Well, maybe it's because the two worlds have been at peace for more than 18 years, and chances are they've had time to build their societies.
Also, the fact that Rin's the next ruler of the shin/demon realm requires the existing rulers to keep an eye on him (maybe...)
Add the convenient fact that Primula's living in Rin's house, and
the fact that she's the ultimate magical vessel, said to hold the key to the future of both realms
Basically the two rulers have every excuse to take a holiday in the human realm.
***
BTW, in the manga Sia's moms pay a visit in volume 3(?), and Kaede's dad also returns for a chapter. So they're around, just probably too busy to interfere with the lives of their children.
so in tick tack game, rin suppously ended up wit nerine and they went back into the past? then rin goes around pimpin and nerine charactertisic changes? that would mean her memories changes also, cuz the pink/loli nerine would never meet rin cuz they dont got 2 personilities like blue nerine.
but that also means that they wouldve never went back in time, so rin could never change time... wow this is confusing
So basically you're concerned with the paradoxes that might have been created by Rin 'time travelling...
Well... it depends on what philosophy the directors decide to adopt for the game.
I'm not sure how Nerine changes in the game, but if Nerine actually travels with Rin, AND is affected by his decisions, I don't think the parallel world theory would work well.
Since the player's choices are affecting the fate of Nerine, I suppose it could be something like this:
1.) Basically Rin's choice was already determined before things happened, and thus Rin's time travelling doesn't cause a paradox.
(i.e. It was determined that Rin would have time travel, and perform whatever changes that he would have done. That being said, Nerine's change was also predetermined. [Whether it would be that Nerine => Pink Nerine, or not changing at all])
***
Problems with the above theory: If it was predetermined that Nerine would change, then how/why did Rin first meet with Nerine?
(i.e. If the player didn't pick a route that resulted in normal Nerine, then how did Rin meet Nerine & time travel back?)
***
Possible escapes:
1.) Blue Nerine is the true ending, and the other endings are merely possible worlds... (but then again possible worlds are as real as our world isn't it?)
2.) The Blue Nerine world was but an illusion created in order for the player to live out the real world. Once Rin made the decisions that altered Nerine, the illusional world disappeared, and everything became what it was at the end of the game.

There are some *amazing* plot threads to explore here...The thing is that people would probably lose interest if it were to run for a year. Point one: the broadcaster is one of those channels you pay for, and it would potentially make it harder to make Rin decide on one girl if they spent enough time to pursue every girl's path to a fuller extent--plus, by the time they got to the last character, the viewer would probably forget everything about the first few girls. Remember 52 eps generally = 1 year.

Remember with these things it's only illegal if you think it's illegal. And the only way you would think it's illegal is if you have a really dirty mind
.

Too long would mean a lot of ideas are required, not to mention that after a while people start to lose interest. Naruto is over 100 eps long, but thats with the introduction of more than 30 characters. Shuffle! only has 5 girls, one guy, and about 3 other side characters that are of any interest. So of course, they have to keep it short for this anime.
That's not to say ovas and sequels aren't bad. In fact, having them is a very good idea
.

You're probably right .. or at least you're voicing what the producers/broadcasters think. I think they usually underestimate their audience (in the US, there are more fundamental reasons why the television audience is shirinking like a punctured balloon - make shows for the stupid and only the stupid watch). Since Shuffle! is R-15+ I would *hope* the target audience is capable of holding a few ideas in their head for an extended duration
But... given the way many of these series are structured (i.e. running the relationship threads in sequential rather than in parallel form), it would be a bit difficult to recall details from 15 or 20 episodes ago. It would be nice to see Shuffle! storyboarded in parallel arcs rather than sequential arcs. More realistic and more of a race... though I think they're going to miss an opportunity here for a groundbreaking solution not available in the game.
Ah well...
I've been told the commercial purpose of the anime is to get you to buy the manga and all the merchandise (shocking, eh?
).
So my Eeyore-sense says the series will end with no real change of status. Rin will have a pack of girls orbiting him and we'll see a few OVAs profiling his relationship with a selected young lady and maybe a resolution. We can hope for something more challenging and completed in the manga.
Ichigo (much as I liked the character design and a lot of the bits) was broken from the start because of just flat poor storyboarding in the anime and the manga suffered from "soap opera never-enditis" and was wrapped up very abruptly.

Discussed in the episode threads 10 and 11 -- in a nutshell: the team working ep 11 got done first while ep 10 got hung up on some subtleties of translation. They went ahead and released 11 "for the good of the community" since many people had seen 10 from the other groups. They are still working on 10 and have said they'll release it as soon as it is ready.
I rather like their freewheeling translation --- it includes dialog that fits right in with how it might be said with Western slang and metaphor.
Froth and Kaz are doing more 'straight" translations -- more helpful if you're trying to actually listen to the language and learn a bit of it.

AnimeU tends to get their sub out first, but each of the 3 groups listed by Cloudnine have advantages to their styles of translation, subtitling, and OP/ED handling.
I've been recommending people look at a sample of each before deciding which group to follow.
Myself, I lean towards Froth-bite because of their work on Mahoraba and their files seem to be "brighter/sharper" on my computer, but occasionally I'm finding I like AnimeU's translation style (looser but getting the spirit of the conversation nicely) and sometimes KnKF seems to have a less stilted translation. I also like the fatter fonts and those with colors signifying the speaker.

You are confused by the pricing... "$50" is only a typical price for a game released in the USA. The typical price for games in Japan is $80 (or about 7800 yen depending on the currency exchange). You are also assuming the sort of price discount that happens in the States. This is a foreign (i.e. Japanese) game ... um, it also means that the game itself is *in* Japanese (no subtitles) and requires your computer's operating systems to be set to the Japan Region locale and possibly some fonts installed. The $80 dollars is kind of pricey by our standards, *particularly* when you consider these sort of games are really just fancy Zork/Adventure type text games with pretty pictures, music, and voice acting.
It would be interesting to see what a game like HalfLife sells for in Japan.

Maybe he's a mastermind behind all the attacks on Rin.
Just realized, this is for episode 14, this should be in the Q&A section.
Well~~~another thinking bout it for a while, i remembered that he was in Ep 1, during when Rin/Kaede was walking to school which was before the RRR/SSS was formed, thus coming to a conclusion of him being either KKK or Rin fanboy

I'm going to take a wild leap here, based on the Asa & Rin conversation in ep 14, and bet the ribbons are an allusion to the bonds people create with each other.
In Japanese culture, the *bonds* between people seem to be more important than whether they were good or bad -- the memories that make those bonds are really the only things that transcend the impermanence of all things. So think of them as fancy memory "reminders" if naught else. Every ribbon worn seems to be a memory of something for the wearer (so far.. we haven't gotten many of the backstories yet).

What is inner Sia's name anyways? I know it can't be Sia.
She doesn't actually have a name yet at this point of time in the anime.
She is given the name, Kikyou, by Rin near the end of her path in the game.

Does the Demon side of Sia also love Rin?

She is not Sia's demon side. Kikyou is Sia's sister and happens to share the same body. And of course Kikyou loves Rin; it should be obvious since Sia turned over her body for Kikyou...

Isn't Kikyou demon-blooded. I remember earlier in this thread that Kikyou was born demon or half-demon because their(& Sia's) mother is a demon + therefore she can't be princess of the God realm. <--I think.

Kikyou is demon-blooded(her mother is the Demon God's sister). Lisianthus is god-blooded(either one of her God mother). They share the same body; The only difference is that Lisianthus is the dorminant soul of their bodies, she calls the shot as she controls the body, whereas Kikyou is the recessive soul, therefore unable to come out unless of certain situations. If you still didn't know, Sia has 3 mothers.
As said, Kikyou would appear of certain situations. She will definitely appear when Lisianthus felt inferior or something, or when Lisianthus actually wants Kikyou to appear and she herself 'disappears'/make herself become 'recessive'. In the anime, Kikyou appears because Lisianthus felt that she wronged Rin/made Rin sad. With no one to consult to, why not consult from/turn to your dearest sister? Who knows, your sister might actually give a great solution to your problem...

Q: Does anyone know if it is ever revealed in either the anime or the game which race - gods or demons - has the stronger innate magical abilities? We've seen some of what Nerine can do, and it was mentioned that Kareha-sempai has healing magic. But the main thing that has piqued my curiousity about this is:
Prior to the creation of Primula, both experimental subjects - Ama and Lycoris - were from the demon race. The object of the experiment was to create a being with more powerful magic than either race currently commands. So, are demons being used because they have more capacity for magic than the god race to begin with, or are they simply more expendable?
The spoiler info is probably common knowledge by now, but I'm using the tags just in case...

The demons certainly appear more *willing* to use magic (both combat and healing spells). The crackle around the form of God-chan in ep 15 leads me to believe that the gods are just more restrained about it.
ep 15 ... watched it several times now... excellent episode but I wish they'd had a bit of budget for the lab climax special effects (think Nanoha and Nanoha A sfx).

I think Sia and Kikyou have the same father and mother. Just Sia inherits god-bood more from their father, while Kikyou inherits demon-blood more from their mother.

and then Kikyou wasn't allowed to be born,
(Since that would imply demon > god or something like that? Not the best news for Shin-chan)
so Kikyou got fused into Sia's recessive personality

wouldnt this present a problem for the as a family, uncle forbesii would be a little angry wouldnt he, deliberatly killing his niece. why would shin-chan do this?

At least in the game, no one but Sia seems to know about Kikyou. Perhaps Eustoma does know but either he assumes that Sia's twin died (in all aspects) before birth or haven't told anyone outside of the nuclear family about the incident yet.
...Which brings up a curiosity. Does the god realm have ultrasound machines?

There's really a bit of armwaving concerning this aspect of Sia and the royal family.... basically the "how" is a really weak plot point unless they clarify it in the anime better than the written material I've seen does.
