Gundam Unicorn - Some running away from responsibility.
Gundam 00 - I am Gundam! No running.
Gundam SEED and Destiny - Partial emoing and running.
G-Gundam - Too manly, no one was allowed to run.
Gundam Wing - Hero would have rather blown himself up than run away, Qatra blew up some (ok, quite a lot) people rather than run.
Not much of a trend recently... and its not like Asem is going to run away for the more usual cliche: "I hate war!" But because he's just never going to get a break in this game, everything is stacked against him.
It'd be pretty normal to snap in such a situation.
