They actually used a golden sword sprite, similar to Dlanor's longsword (which was initially in the doujin game but never used for some reason).
But you never see a sprite of Battler with a sword, you only see a CG with some "sort" of blue and gold (and funnily enough, the game does not have Battler in gold with the gamemaster cloak, despite the visual book shows it).
