Yeah, I pretty much agree, hence the quotation marks around the word "flashback". To be fair though, that intro is like a really short summary of what happened that year so I see how and why people think of it as a legitimate flashback. In fact one could possibly still argue that it is. I think the fact most people seem to believe that the opening narrations are delivered by C.C. is something that adds to the already flashback-like feeling. Then again, they're
not delivered by C.C. at all but by Yukana the seiyuu, out of character, as opposed to the monologues at the end of each episode that are delivered by Lelouch, in character.
