As for who Bilrer wanted to meet I think it could very well be Mao Nome.
Both Ranka and Sheryl are Mao's grandchildren by her two daughters.
One is Ranshe and the other who inherited the earrings.
Bilrer is Ranshe's father and Ranka's grandfather.
Who knows Mao may have a thing for crash landed pilots.
Though we think Sheryl is a pure blood Earther maybe Mao had a love triangle that led her ending up with two daughters.
It would explain why Ranshe resembles Sheryl and why Ranka resembles Sheryl's mother and Mao Nome.
