They ran.
Its because all the fighting took place in an Alt Dimension (well, more like time was out of sync, but whatever) that none of the Kihara's or AC forces could find the people and kill them.
What
exactly they did is unknown, but most likely they hid until things calmed down, by which point Baggage city had won a Pyrrhic Victory (they'd beat all the invading forces but had lost most of their higher ups and most of their military might) and were completely unable to deal with AC when they came to negoitate.
