Believe me, I'm all for eroge seiyuus reprising their roles in anime adaptations of those specific titles. But mainstream seiyuus are often more well-known and have "star power" to bring in viewers. Just look at how many roles
Erika Narumi (the original voice for Sylvia van Hossen in the
Princess Lover VN) has versus how many
Megumi Toyoguchi (the voice for Sylvia Van Hossen in the
Princess Lover anime) has.

Famous mainstream seiyuus cost more because they have more options, since usually more productions are vying for their time and talent. This means that almost all the time, the seiyuu budget has to be increased in order to get a seiyuu to perform for this specific show and not another.
