Yes, if you're a hardcore Dungeon diving fan. The satisfaction would come from overcoming tough fights and exploring messed up eldritch horror locations.
The only thing I'm wary about is the randomness of the status effects and how severe it would be. The harder your game is, the more consistent the rules must be.
