Well, the E.U. was faring well against them...until Suzaku showed up. They were only unlucky in that they had no world-renowned scientists on their side like Lloyd or Rakshata, or an elite unit like the Rounds.
So much for that 'top-class' general who was meant to be checking the Brits and their advance into northern Africa as well...
