With all due respect to the fine upstanding officials of Honolulu who are obviously well in touch with the public's opinions , how exactly does one determine something to be stinky? Does the bus driver poll his riders when he gets a complaint, and what happens if you have people disagreeing as well? How exactly are you going to enforce judgment in court with lawyers likely to get their clients to dress and clean up before the court appearances, which is already being done now for trials?
It would be more preferable that anyone who's skunky on the bus should be given a stick of deodorant and a slap on the wrist instead of a hose-down. Still, the last time I endured such a travesty was a foreign customer who literally filled up the small shop (where I worked once as a typist) with his stink.
