It's great to see another update Triple R. I read all of it yesterday, and wanted to give you my review, but I wasn't at home for the past couple of days and my cousins were being bratty about the comp use. So, the only time I was on was to check for updates and that's about it, and couldn't make a single reply to anything for a couple of days. Now that I'm home, and on my own personal computer with no distractions!
Sorry, no ClariS this time , it's a Megumi Nakajima marathon due to the release of Rinne no Lagrange, when there's yuri, there's a bond. God I love episode 2!
Anyway, let's go and this is started!
Ahem:
Spoiler for Nostalgic Crossovers:
Tiger Woods...I wonder how he manages a resort afrwe that notorious scandal months back.
Anyway, back on topic:
Ahem:
interesting choice in using golf, well mini-golf, as a motif as a nod to episode 10 when Homura was using a golf club to beat up a steel drum while getting use to her powers. It didn't work how since you know she uses firearms as her main use of weaponry, but it at least gave her an idea of what suits her needs as a Puella Magi. Madoka, however, feeling a little out of place when it comes to her girlfriends athleticism, although unbeknownst to her, at the moment, Homura was like her before becoming the awesome Puella Magi that she is. I'm really amazed how despite the insecurities that Madoka was showing this bit, it gave us a hint that she yearns for self-improvement to be a fitting girlfriend for Homura. Madoka getting aroused by Homura's breasts on her back, Madoka when did you become such a perv...?
I'm truly impressed how you've made Madoka quite daring in this romance chapter. In previous ones, Sayaka and Mami pretty much took the lead, but in this one it sort of showed development in her character...somewhat. Nice take on her parents's (well father) putting her trust and also having an idea of her sexual "preference", because from what I've (well we) read about them, they're sharp and understanding individuals, and that's a good thing since it's the source of Madoka's virtuously kind and loving nature.
A little nice heart to heart with Madoka while she was talking to Homura about her family and how they're busy. So her mother works for space technology while her father works for SonySoft (nice take on that since Square Soft is now Square Enix which is a created one of the best RPG series for the Sony consoles). They haven't been doing well considering with the Final Fantasy XIII series and now in the sequel they left out the ending and we have to pay for it "shudders". Did you write this in mind, and are you a huge Final Fantasy fan?
Anyway, Like Obi-Wan with Luke, Homura plans to go into exile to watch and protect Madoka from a distance, while at the same time keep her humanity intact. Madoka, being emotionally fragile, obviously didn't take the news pretty well and that's to be expected because she's been fighting to change her fate and prevent her from becoming a Puella Magi. Makes sense since like job hunting, Puella Magi is a competitive cut throat business for hunting down witches and getting Grief Seeds, and they're scarce in certain instances. With one pretty and loving awesome memory with the love making and everything, Homura is dead set in her willingness to distance herself from her despite now only will Madoka will get hurt, but herself as well, but that's like her considering that she'll do anything to protect her from anything.
Spoiler for Victorian Secret and The Pink Angel:
The battle against the witch that cancelled out her time stopping abilities was interest, and the music really set the tone for desperation, and the willingness to survive. I really liked how the witch had a Victorian era attire and looked relatively human...judging from the pic that was on the video link. The battle itself was tricky, considering that it pushed Homura into using an "ace" up her leave in many instances, but didn't do much because danger of the proximity of the weapons she's using, and at the fact that the witch seems to be able to counter her every move without any difficultly.
Just when Homura was about to resign herself, in lives little surprises (well Homura's) Madoka contracted. I was like
Me: "I wonder how Homura will get through thi...Madoka, WHAT?!! She contracted. How?! Why?!!
My heart literally racing in anticipation wondering why she did it, but after seeing what she wished for, I understood why my fears would be put to rest. Unlike the wish she made in episode 12, this one was more "tame" compared to the one in said episode where it was pretty much on a universal scale. So she, and the others, can be a Puella Magi and don't need to use Grief Seeds to purify their Soul Gems, nice twist on this, I really enjoyed where you're going with this one here, impressive.
The ending was incredible, it just showed that how Madoka was thinking of her own ways to maintain her position to be with her girlfriend and how Homura doesn't have to needlessly sacrifice her happiness anymore. I really liked the meeting the parents, wedding, and how everyone was moving forward in a positive direction. I'm truly content with this, great work dude, this is amazing!
Grading Time:
Spoiler for Pros:
The scenario, character development, direction and the ending was definitely praise worthy. I enjoyed reading it to absolutely no end. I'm truly impressed with this ending, it took you weeks but the wait was worth it. Excellent work dude, this gets a 10/10 from me. Well done, phenomenal work, it definitely earned my attention!
Was the SonySoft a nod to Sony Entertainment and Square Soft (now Square Enix). Because I love Final Fantasy and other RPGs that they made, so was your idea based on that or what it something different? It's an awesome idea, I'm just curious.
Can't wait to see your take on the "dark side" of the epilogue will be. When there's light, there's darkness, I wonder what you'll pull in the next update. Well, once again, excellent work, take your time, from until then dude, until then!
