You are asking how to make that color pattern right? I am hardly the best when it comes to these things, but here goes anyway...
In Photoshop CS...
You need to use the
Eyedropper tool to pick the colors from the source pic you have there. Then with the
Gradient tool you start to add the colors in the same order on your text. You also need to pick the correct angle for the gradient to look similar to the original.
And that's pretty much it. the rest is just a simple stroke on two layers.
I am probably missing some details and there's probably a better way to do it, but that's how I made the example you see here.
