That is because I began learning piano at the age of 7. Gotta admit that I did get fed up for a while somewhere in the middle, having to practice 2 hours a day just seemed like a burden to me. Luckily I picked up my interest again afterwards and kept going till I got the diploma. The recent 4 years I haven't played much due to school works & stuff.
PS My piano teacher was an asian too. Although it's a female, she's 60+, so I don't think that was my motivation
