Well in my opinion the first XG 70 used at sadogashima is homage to Nadesco , the XG 70d looks like a cross between a gerwalk/ storm attacker form macross / macross quarter
Your right the dendrobium/ susanoo the XG 70d is the same in the sense as "High speed interceptor/fortress with load of VLS and crap load of firepower well, but the susanoo has the distinct edge , I field on negate beam/plasma energy, while the rurtherford field is invisible force field negates physical and energy attacks
Well for rurtherford field , version of distortion field of alternative , guess this why like the trilogy, even if has horrible scenes that i still can remember this day ... just my 2 cents
