Eventhough i mentioned something about it a few months in the eroge thread when i gave my impressions of it, the manga as a standalone was rather mediocre if you have not played/read the game. Just like the mashifony manga's that told Yutsuki's and Sana's routes.

You can easily adapt Aya's and the Gradutation route in the anime, but without some foreshadowing and character development from the other routes (like elements from Yoru's story and the original bad end) it might turn out to be less effective. It's also pretty hard to combine all the routes into a "super route" for Hatsuyuki sakura, because this game actually has a true route that doesn't seem to mesh well with the other routes.

While Nozomu's, Shirokuma's and Yoru's routes are not entirely essential for the true route unlike certain eroges

that have all the routes linked to the true route like Little busters and the earlier mentioned Natsuyume Nagisa and Irotoridori no Sekai

I do think you are missing out on lot of the overall experience without it.
