Common picks are very hard to replace imo...although some champions do make it to the popular rosters (Jayce and Lulu for example), most people stick to what works best(?) (Janna/Sona, Graves/Ez/Corki/Cait, Karthus/Orianna/Lux, etc).
That said, I'd love to see people diverge from these choices, as it would make games much more interesting to watch when it comes to people's reactions and item builds.
