There's been a lot of thought put ino this. Can't really comment given that I haven't seen much of Code Geass and what little I have seen was not enough for me to deckare Code Geass as my lord and savoiur, which disappointed Kaioshit.
At the end of the day, if you can write an entertaining story and sell the audience on your idea, go for it.
