No, Cao Cao wasn't a bad guy. He was the Hero of Chaos and owned most of China out of the Three Kingdoms. Had he won at Chibi than there would never have been a Shu at all and Wu would have been crushed completely, but sadly Guo Jia wasn't there to help convince him to ignore Pang Tong's trickery.
Further, Jin is just a re-established Wei and they're the ones that brought an end to that era. Of course that was soon followed by another war due to Sima Yan becoming lazy(and a sex freak), marrying his mentally retarded son to Jia Chong's daughter, and than putting that mentally retarded son on the throne which lead to Jia Chong's daughter obtaining power through her unable Husband. Naturally that lead to war.
