That hollow was definitely effective in getting things done. He might be able to live without his powers but seeing his sister nearly killed is another thing entirely. Plus can at least guess the one guy tailing Ichigo is part of a different group though their objective is still hard to guess at.
Things moving along while keeping a bit of comical stuff like Ichigo getting tailed by that tsundere .

As you will soon see, these Xecution guys are VERY powerful. So... where the hell were they when Aizen was rampaging? How come Soul Society never even mentioned such powerful individuals? How come Aizen never mentioned such powerful individuals? Reality bending is a power that would get the attention of both sides. Short answer: Kubo is pulling everything out of his ass with no concerns for continuity or plot consistence.

I'd like to properly respond to that point, but bringing up future events from the manga isn't allowed. As the OP states, even hints or vague remarks aren't okay. So it'd be bad to discuss that here. You might want to either reword the post or delete it before a mod sees it. You can also feel free to repost that message in this weeks chapter thread if you'd like to discuss it further.

Point taken. One would think so. Though it all depends on how it's used and how far Kubo's willing to take it. Based on his track record so far, I wouldn't immediately jump to any conclusions. Fullbringers can indeed manipulate souls (and can therefore manipulate reality to a limited degree). By all means, the potential for some incredibly cheap possibilities is there for the taking, but only if Kubo's willing to take full advantage of the possibilities in question when it counts.
We'll see... |

lol. My sarcasm detector is broken at the moment. So the only other thing I'll say is that Kubo's utilized the potential for some of the cheap abilities he's created in the past. I won't deny him that. The problem is, he doesn't always do these abilities justice when it counts--which is the main point I'd like to emphasize. You can have the most powerful abilities ever, but it all amounts to nothing if its either not used, or used poorly at a critical moment.

This might be the first time Kubo pulled something out of his rectum that actually worked though...This might be the best depowering of a shonen-hero character I've ever seen...
While certainly unintentional from the start of the series, the fact that the gigai elements strictly overshadowed the human aspect of the show, with Ichigo's spiritual powers (hopefully his arc as a spiritual character) now gone, the focus on him having powers solely as a human gives a good cushion here to hid behind...I love the fact that he has regained his fighting instincts, but has totally lost his brute strength...So he's going to have to re-train himself all over again from a baseline of no powers (but with great intangibles) vs. training himself to fight with absurd powers (but with no discipline)... It's a very good prospect for continuing the show while they nerf him...Very impressed so far with this current arc, I can only pray we never see SS again and this can be the show until the end...Because (Minus only the abundance of fight-porn) this is the better show...

To be honest, I felt this new arc a rehash and dragging things to absurd levels. Ichigo puts me on the nerves with his blunt and intransigent attitude of his.
It feels the whole plot is moving in circles while frozen in a standstill, and I don't see why they should continue on with the story when everything concluded with a craze impact at the end of Aizen's defeat. Now, as the user in the previous post mentioned, what makes for an interesting redemption to this arc is that with his powers gone Ichigo's back to square one. Has the ferocity but not powers anymore to fend off even against the ordinary Hollow that almost ate his sisters. This situation provides for more dramatic angst, and forces Ichigo about his current state with patience to hold him down. |
