A very interesting manga, the setting of Cicero City is based off of an actual 19th century town, with vicious armed gangs, corrupt officers and diverse population. The plot, however, is what sold me on this one. It's very well-made, and from the 4th volume onwards, the characters are developed enough to carry the story by themselves, and there's enough plot twists to keep the reader on edge.

So, anyone else reading this?

This is what I like to think of as my GAR manga... I'd have posted something already, but I'm only around 15~20ish chapters in. Anyways, it's a good refresher from all the mangas where the guys are wimps who can barely fight. I suspect there's also less popularity with this since there's only three females (that I've encountered so far), and one of them has been dead for a while

So while there is quite a bit of "man-service", it's pretty damn badass

I personally felt the ending was too rushed. It seemed like the author had bigger plans with such a big cast, but either was compelled by his publishers to finish it off or he lost interest and ended it prematurely.

I love the way the author resolves the cliffhanger from vol.5 as well as the dubious claim of Nichol killing the iron hand, all in one...only to build up for some serious fighting It's good to have justice for so many characters though, the fights are short, the fighters have a background and a reason to fight, the plot keeps unraveling and we'll definitely have a dramatic ending in the next volume. Looks like Franco's trying to establish an empire of his own, but until then, I'll sit back and enjoy the final fight between Isaac and Lee Meilang.

Kafriel Senior Guest Join Date: Jan 2009 Location: Athens (GMT+2) Age: 35	Vol.7's out~ Spoiler for Vol.7: The arc came to an end and Meilang didn't get a single fight Can't really complain though, Isaac's final battle was amazing, as well as the "blade vs gatling gun" scene. So, with the era of gangs finally over, will the author shift to warring states next? The closure of this arc was very nice, with everything said and done, ch.57 could have been the final peaceful chapter of Jackals. Looking forward to the next release...
