The shounen manga Penguin Musume will be getting animated.

The anime adaptation of the manga is titled:
ペンギン娘♥はぁと
Penguin Musume ♥ Heart

The Penguin Musume (ペンギン娘) manga was serialized in the shounen manga magazine Weekly Shounen Champion, but the manga stopped serialization in the magazine, and continued serialization from the February 2008 issue of the shounen manga magazine Champion RED with a new title: Penguin Musume MAX (ペンギン娘MAX).

For now there are 3 volumes released of this manga.

Ah~, this series. I saw a review once for this. Never really got around to buy it, but it could be pretty good.

Cute and attractive cover art. I really like it.

I read up on what little info I could find about the series. It's about a rich,otaku-ish girl, as far as I could gather. If it's random, ecchi comedy, I'll probably end up liking it. I'll be on the lookout for this one. Any info on how the title relates to the story?

From what I gathered, the main character is very Konata like, as she absolutely adores anime and manga. Her last name literally means "Antarctic" or "South Pole", so she is called "Penguin" by her friends.
Since it looks to be 4 panel comic strips, I'm guessing it's very slice of life.

Kind of amazing. One look at this, and I'm already excited. ^_^ *Puts down on her "To watch in future" list*

I'm really looking forward to this anime - I hope it's not too ecchi, I'd rather they concentrate on the eccentricity of the main girl. Yonkoma manga has been adapted into some memorable comedy shows in the past, so I'm hoping for something good here.
