Ok, so they ended with Beato barging in Natsuhi's room. I question this choice as they could simply do that at the chapel, but well (super momentum break). But on the other hand, there is a LOT to cover for the last Ep2 episode.
Worldenddominator was used, but only when Gohda saw the goats. Meanwhile, Beelzebub had a super high pitched voice, but it is still acceptable, (while I still can't help but think Asmo breathed toncrap of helium). Gohda's VA was very good for the panicked performances, though the expressions and animations didn't follow that quite well. Rosa was even more loathable than I first thought in the VN I have no idea if it was my raw or something, but it seems they skipped the "There is no one hiding!" with Battler's despair galore. Actually, Battler has shown emotions here, but the lead up was a bit too brutal I think.

Yeah how are they going to cover the rest of the arc in 1 episode? There's still a good deal to cover. I thought they would end at least when the bodies were discovered.
Does this mean Ep2 is actually 7 episodes? Then what about Ep3 and Ep4? |

That's so weird...
We're all obviously fine of the pace being slow, but are we looking at a 3 arc season here? Spoiler for 2chan link:
A question, Spoiler for this episode:

0_o They hardly covered anything...that's really messed up. Seriously, I expected them to at least get to the next two twilights...
Could we be looking at 7 episodes? We already got that first thing...unless they cram everything into the next episode (NOOOOOOOOOOO ;_; ) 7 episodes is good. ...Actually, this episode might be too slow... (D8 They took out You are incompetent? Drat! That was my favorite! ) |

No it's definietly six episodes - next episode is Back Rank Mate: following the trend of mates being the end of the arc. DEEN already hid the existence of a sixth episode at first, so unless they're hiding another episode (highly doubting that) then next episode concludes the second arc.

If every episode was like this , me would be sooooooo happy
Loved Beato maniacal expressions and Battler's reactions, i liked a lot this episode EDIT: Didn't anyone EVER notice that seasons are usuallly 12-13 episode long, and with 5-6, that would be just 11. I was hoping from the vert beginning 6-7-11. I could dream. They can do 5-7-7-7 if they skip the terribly interesting character development from ep4, not many people like it |

This episode was definitely one of my favorites. I must admit, the thought of cramming stuff into the next episode scared me... but just concentrating on this episode itself, I must admit that it was pretty good. The animation was MUCH better than in last week's (in my opinion anyway).
My favorite part was Beelzebub's introduction, I like her voice. :3 I think I'm going to rate this episode an 8 at least, but I'm going to wait for the subbed version before rating it.

Gonna wait on subbed, but i liked it.
They have to cram a lot in the next ep, but that's already been discussed. Hmm... Beelze's voice... i'm a bit iffy, but you know, can't do anything about it. And can I just say that I love Ohara? They missed out on some bits though... I guess they have to but I was looking forward to a certain red text. |

I think it's a valid conversation topic. A lot of people haven't been able to watch it yet, so if they can't do a little speculation about what scenes will appear when, there isn't much else to post about for a day or so. Anyway, you've got a scrollbar for a reason.

A good episode, really. Some stuff were cut, but the important and substantial were left, and that's what matters. Though Rosa's and Gohda's seiyuu work was really amazing.
The only thing I'm bothered is how DEEN underplays the novel's descriptions. When the group was feeling from the Golden Butterflies in the chapel, I imagined many, many more butterflies, and a wave of them. Same as when Beatrice and the goats enter Natsuhi's room- the VN says the room was turned into shades of gold, but in the anime, I can only see a dozen butterflies flying above the witch's furniture. Regardless, really nice episode. They could've started it a bit earlier, but major props for worldenddominator in the end. |
