First episode wasn't that great and kinda reminds me of the old MMO anime healers meme.
Spoiler for Healers:

Yeah, it's a bit bland and the MC is kind of a wet dishrag, but that he has to actually work to git gud makes it more interesting to me than the 1.000end "OP right out of the crib!" copy/pasta-isekai.
Also, that the healers apparently formed a mafia is a hilarious idea. Gets two more episodes, let's see if the MC grows on me.

Alright I watched the first episode and it's a lot better then I thought it was first going to be. Is basally about a good boy who wants to help people. However I feel like they need to pull back on the comedy for a series with these sort of themes. Like the corruption, classism, and racism of healers.
Also I have to say this is defiantly an Isekai that didn't need to be an Isekai. MC could've really been from a remote village and just desired to help people.

I went and checked the source out of curiosity.
Spoiler for no spoilers or hints, just an observation:
Quote:
This cant be blamed on authors either, if "isekai" sells and "fantasy" is harder-sell then sure whatever just sneak it in as a isekai right?

I like it. I like the earnest, trying hard to get better type of protag. Definitely more interesting than super MCs where everything falls into their laps like Yuuya/Iseleve. Now the question is how many eps does the writer allow before he DOES end up a superman? heh.
I wonder if he's going to face backlash from the "mafia healers". A new guy showing up and offering his services for free would not be appreciated by them I'm sure. Could be some interesting story possibilities there. Kinda reminds me of the other healer isekai where he had pushback from the traditional pharmacists and had his shop vandalized. |

One of the key things they noted in the episode was that he was allowed to keep whatever he finds in the labyrinth. As such, I am sure he will find something rare and special later on. The "Pope" expects that he will end up with quite a few things; hence, she said it was to her benefit that he is capable of holding more and larger things.
Also, the fact that he is about the only healer who is also highly skilled in fighting means that a lot of the labyrinth has been left unexplored.

I am on episode 2, but this is kind of a mixed bag. It's nice that he isn't OP from the start and some of the ideas too, but the rest isn't great. The pacing, etc. is completely off making it fairly boring. And I just can't cheer for his motivation. Maybe if the "wounded adventurer" was a small girl (or at least a beauty) I might not care much, but I don't feel much for the random "Villager A" guy.
I guess getting some training is OK, but do you seriously have to take a job that pays 1 silver per day (minus the training fee!) to get it? With standard 1 silver per heal and him being able to use it 8 times x number of rests he might be getting some 40 silver a day for a fair price (and more in the future), so he is generally speaking working for a slave pay. It's not like we have some deep background of his family in that world dying because of not being able to afford a healer or whatever, so why? |

I'm betting there will be even more and better items as he continues to explore, although magic suppression scepter would have defeated everyone in the cleric role.
@Rasty It's the general driving factor for this guy in this series. He is scared in an unknown new world, and he just wants to do whatever it takes to survive. That's his whole motivational force, so whatever it takes to get that goal, he will do it, even with slave labor. Money is not his goal right now. Also, as you will see as you progress in the series, death is a very real and common thing in this world, so his reasoning for keeping himself alive is reasonable. Yes, the pace is a bit slow, but it is a nice slice of life series that has events happening here and there. The girls are all great, too.
