Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 2.0 (KB928365)

^ Whenever that one is being updated, it always fails. I tried it again...and it still fails. What do I do?

download the update manually and then install it.

Reading some of the comments on the story at TheReg suggests the problem might be associated with the MSCORSVW.EXE program that recompiles all the .NET binaries. After reading these various comments, I submitted the story to Slashdot. I was a bit surprised it hadn't already appeared there, and I suspect I won't be the only one to submit it.

I was about to do the same, but I thought others would do it, and then I desisted. Looks like I was right
