I agree with nhyn, ep 3 was funny, but not as funny as ep 2.
I think part of is because immigration is such a sensitive issue that you have to be incredibly tactful to properly poke fun of it. I am glad this show has the balls to make fun of such a touchy issue, though, so it gets points for going there. But I found myself laughing more at the interactions between Tsunetsuki and Itoshiki than the jokes on the cultural differences and illegal immigrants. Quote:

I always look forward to seeing what they come up with for each episode's new OP
Refreshing to see that ep 4 has actual character animation (I loved the little dance and the pretty closeups of sensei~ ), though somehow I miss the random text OP...The "DEAR BOYS" joke killed me As did the references. But overall, I think this was my least favorite episode so far.I think they should've introduced the characters in a different order... either by introducing the people already in the class before the foreigners, or by not having BOTH foreigners be introduced in the same episode. Bit of an overkill.

The text on the blackboard. The words and capitalisation seems to hint at it, unless there is some other cultural reference I am missing out here. Jeff Lawson, the author of the blog, has worked in Japan before and has had made TV appearances as well. Additionally, he has a fanbase there.

Ishitoki-sensei looks really cool in the new opening though! I'm also wondering who the heck that guy is that shows up in the backround when Ishitoki's hanging himself. :/ |
