It's just a cash in to milk eva more. As Gainax do. I bought the Tabris one at the beginning of this year too

As far as I know, Gainax has little involvement with these new movies. Anno himself said in the statement poster he had put out that he would be setting up a new production studio of his own for these movies. Someone correct me if im wrong.

I never said it wouldn't be subbed. I said it wouldn't be subbed until it was out on DVD, and by then ADV would be broadcasting nonstop to fansubbers to stay away from the property.

I for one feel a pretty different attitude in Shinji among the shots he has got among the currently released footage. Looks a lot more cynical even if still certainly antisocial... but now in a more aggressive way rather than his old shy demeanor.

I'm really looking forward to these movies and the trailers look very promising, indeed. The animation certainly looks crisp, and I hope these movies retain the same mood as the original series, which helped to make it so enduring.

I can't call it from the previews but it's certainly making out to look like Shinji is more harsh and darker in his approach. Sort of more like his manga counterpart.

in other words, he's a lot closer to Sadamoto's portrayal of him in the manga. If so, great idea, because the manga Shinji is much better than TV Shinji.

I agree, the oh so wimpy Shinji version of the anime sucks. Bad. That's why I prefer by far his version in the manga, antisocial, but at least is conscious of WTF happens around him.
I still hope they don't screw the ending, AGAIN, but oh well, it's Evangelion so... can't keep my hopes too high ¬_¬

Does anyone have an idea of when/if/how this would reach the US? I've done some research and there is no word or hint of a US theatrical release. Will our friends in Japan sub and upload the movie for us to youtube and other such websites? I don't think I can wait much longer to see this movie haha.

Whenever ADV license the movies --- or if they'll do one at a time, i'm not that sure.

Clarification: The movies are actually being done by Khara, a small studio formed within Gainax. Think of it like Clover and Capcom were in the past.
