Well,
I downloaded Azureus, and all I want is something to download to see if it actually works. Nothing I have put in has actually started downloading. I looked for a test file to see if it worked, and no dice. It keeps having connection time out problems. Now I am at my library, using Wifi on my laptop. And there are other problems with speed, as my connection states: 54 Mbps, but anything I have tried to download is more like 39 K. Does anybody have a file I could try to download to see if I am set up correctly? Thanks Lyndon Salt Lake City Well, there is something with the configuration at the library, as I downloaded uTorrent at home and it immediately started downloading. Unless I can figure out the problem, I'm stuck with trying to find a reasonable DSL/Broadband connection as the dial up is NOT going to cut it. A real shame, as I live two houses from the library. Azureus starts torrents a lot slower since it does a lot of math to get the best it can get, however, in the end you'll get better speeds then µTorrent.

Cats,
Thanks for the thoughts. I downloaded uTorrent at home on the desktop and it worked right away. The problem being the hideous dial up download speeds. Then I took my laptop to the library next door, downloaded uTorrent, and had the the speed guide says the current port is blocked, so now I guess I need to figure how to map a port? I think there is more to this, with the wifi connection in the library causing these problems. Also the slow speed, of uploading 192K. I called the library tech staff, and they said by phone that the limit is 256K. Computer says the connection is at 54.0 Mbps Also, this is a relatively new laptop, and the tech guy said my model card should be working much faster. He suggested to go to another Wifi place, and see what speeds I get. Thanks for any ideas, Cats Lyndon |

Start a thread here or just take it to Tech Support since I think you mean it's a laptop issue.

Remember that Azureus runs on top of Java so it's possible the problems you're having are in your Java installation. See if downloading the newest version of Java helps. The download page is here.
I've never had Azureus fail like that on either my Pentium D desktop or our Core Duo laptop, but we're running Linux and Sun Java on both.

GHDpro answered that question for us just yesterday in another thread in this forum:

Strange behavior when downloading using Azures, when I look at the "status window" it seems keep switching from...
"NAT Problem" -> Everything fine -> "Nat Problem" ... Even though I have changed no settings, between the "Everything fine" and "NAT Problem"... Also sometimes it seems to block all Internet traffic (even from a different machine), and the only way to fix it seems to be to unplug my router and plug it back in... Anyone know what might be wrong?
