Thinking back to Tatarigoroshi-hen, I KNEW SOMETHING WAS GOING ON, especially with the 'Takano died 24 hours earlier'. That seriously left my head going into Kai, i should have kept thinking about it, especially with the situation between Satoko and her uncle being the same.

Takano is the evil woman of the century~

Takano was so damn cool in this episode with her maniacal chuckle. I was expecting her to be a little bit surprised when she realized Rika's predictions were right, but she showed no surprise at all, simply intrigue. Plus watching her go from being a nurse to commanding an entire unit with such respect just made me like her character that much more.

Finally, we'll soon get to see Takano's motivation for all this ... that's the real draw of Kai for me.

I actually liked the background music when Satoko was reunited with Rika, it felt right to me. With that said, I've never played the game, so I guess I don't have anything to compare it with.

There's something I'm confused about:

According to the coroner's report, Tomitake came up clean from any substances...
So what was that syringe? Was it the disease itself, or did it only trigger it? Did Takano even inject him?
From what I read from what little has been translated of the sound novel, he already showed symptoms when he heard heard Hanyuu in the shrine. So wouldn't that would mean he wasn't vaccinated even though he claimed to have been?

Well I can't use an .ass file because I don't know how to.

Anyway as for the episode, I thought it was great. Sure the music didn't quite fit, but it wasn't too bad.

Come to think of it, I am actually somewhat disppointed that Takano is (for now at least) the mastermind, it was a bit too obvious. Though her going all moe and cute when she entered the shrine warehouse was a nice combination of red herring and genuine clue. I can imagine her gleefully lighting up the fuse by killing Rika just to see what happens as indicated by the tip but why do the Yamainu follow her? Why do "some people in Tokyo" want the Hinamizawa "bomb" to explode? Just to expose the government's failing seems quite an inadequate motive. If there is a vaccine how come the illness still exists? Many unaswered questions, should be a fun ride from now to te end.

I was frankly getting a bit tired of the Satoko affair, so the second half of this episode was much more appreciated than the first.

Because it's a lot cheaper and faster way of getting rid of the problem
