Maria-sama ga miteru - manga
The first chapter was released just the other day by lililicious. There's a nice introduction to the school and the soeur system. Given that the anime heavily compresses the events of the novels it is to be hoped that the manga will provide more detail.

First tankubon came out yesterday (? sez 2004-03-01 on the inside cover anyway) and I got a copy today (just happened to go to the bookstore). Seems like it was a rush shipment; it cost a bit more than a comparable volume usually does and the price tag said "air" on it. No color pages ._. or anything. The volume ends when the first culture festival ends - looks like the manga is compressed pretty much like the anime was.
 Well it will take me forever to read it - I am glad that there is chisagana so I can sound out the kanji I don't know ^_^;; so I don't have anything else to say about it.
