In the raw manga (at least now, I don't have a character book on me) his name is written as うちはサスケ in the character poll; chapter 199.

When used as a particle, 'wa' is written as 'ha', but his name is not a particle...
'Watashi" is not written as 'Hatashi'.

So it's Uchiha.

I would need to have the raws to be able to make a judgement on that.

uchiha is generally accpeted (and it is EXTREMELY unlikely that he has a particle in his name)

exception being if they spell it with a "wa" and not a "ha"

So yeah, it seems that it's Uchiha and that the symbol Uchiwa of the clan is only insinuated by the pronunciation and the very close writing.

i know that at least.

i was talking about if they used the actuall character for "wa" instead of "ha" which might have 2 meanings.

At first glance I thought it was too, but after I've read the thread's about when Naruto began airing in Japan (or how old is Naruto: the series).

As said before, Naruto began airing in October 2002.
For those curious to know, the manga began being serialized in Shonen Jump, as far as I remember, in 1999 (the same year as One Piece)

I asked how old Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke is in the serie and Hobo said they are all 13...

But didnt Naruto did the academy 3 times over (3 years) ???

Did he begin 3 years earlier? But that would be stupid :S Can someone please explain!

It could be possible that he went 3 times earlier then the other students..

I think graduation exams are like Chunnin exams they happen once in every 6 months so it would be like 1 and half year, he probably entered a bit earlier than the others, since he never had anyone to take care of him and all and he wanted all the people to acnowledge him.

naruto joined 6 months before, and failed 3 times in 6 months (once every 2 months)

if vicious is right.

naruto probably entered early for lack of stuff to do... i mean he had no friends right?

Space_Shinobi-san, you're wrong. Sakura, Sasuke and Naruto are the same age, all of them are 13 years old. So are all the Genin except Lee, Neji and Tenten (who are 14).

All the ages can be found in the 1st Naruto Special Book
