ok i downloaded a video and its in .avi format and includes .ass subtitles, i've searched and search and dont understand anything i get, can any provide a way to watch my dam avi with the sub titles step by step, sorry but im getting really impatient

The subtitles should have the same file name and reside in the same folder, and then they should automatically work.

If you don't have it, then install this: http://www.cccp-project.net/
Vanilla Windows Media or w/e you're using likely has subtitle support, but I've always used cccp so I've no idea.
