Great episode that one, one of the darkest yet I agree...

Just worth mentioning here (for anyone who genuinely cares), it appears the two part special 'Day of Black Sun Parts 1 and 2' was hacked from a Nick toons file server. It hasn't aired yet in the US or the UK, so if you've watched it it's the plundered version.

EDIT: You can read more about the whole sorry affair here.

To some people the only thing that matters is that they watched them. Me? I still need to catch up with the episodes.

Ahh. I sort of liked avatar, but now I'm getting bored of the cartoon though but it is a cute show.

I was wondering, is Avatar is really an anime?

Anime is term that Japanese use to refer to any animated show, not just the ones they produce. But if you want to tell them apart, then it is not anime. Of course Japanese outsource many of they shows to Korea, just like Avatar and many other shows in the US.

The first invasion ep was everything I'd hoped for, thought of course the requisite cliffhanger was a bitch. As it had to be, this was when Sokka came to the forefront - the whole thing is his baby, after all. If you like his character this is as good as the show gets.

I'm rather curious about the Japanese dub, does anyone have any information on it?

And besides - how many shows can say they've had guest appearances by The Rock and Serena Williams?

I got into this series when the second episode had aired. If only i was there for the first. i got to watch the first episode anyways a few days later because they said the show was bran new. they had been doing a three day airing of the same first 2 episodes for 3 days. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday it was. When the 3rd episode aired i thought Momo was Adorable and now I'm stuck watching the series ever since.

Book 3: Earth is such a disappointment compared to Book 1 + 2. The humor is terrible and there's so much fanservice (Katara and Aang). The 11th episode highlighted how terrible the season is.

I think Book 3 was focusing more on Aang's mental growth rather than his growth in strength.(in terms of the elements) Since book 2 ended with Aang's mentality as an Avatar being torn to shreds, I think it's natural for him to go through some character growth afterwards. And if it takes an entire season to do that, then so be it.
